A firearm cartridge is the combination of a projectile* (“bullet”), propellant (“gun powder”), primer, and case. It is incorrect to refer to this as a bullet, as only the projectile is a bullet.
(* A cartridge may contain multiple projectiles, as is normally the case for a shotshell.)
